Deka
Deka Safari Area is a Safari Area in northwestern Zimbabwe, in Matabeleland North Province, bordering Hwange National Park. It is a separate protected wildlife/safari area rather than being part of Hwange National Park. The official Hwange management documentation identifies Deka Safari Area as approximately 51,000 hectares.
Deka is characterized by mopane woodland, mature teak forest, hilly terrain and Jesse bush, and supports wildlife including elephant, buffalo, leopard and plains game. It has an approximately 75-km unfenced boundary with Hwange National Park, allowing wildlife to move between the two areas.
